The Broncos are deservedly top of the ladder, whilst the Roosters are also looking ominous due to their tight-fisted defence. But every time the Cowboys take to the field they look like champions to me.
They are a solid, controlled unit, and with Michael Morgan in the form of his life, they also possess the lethal nature needed for a run in the finals.
Morgan has not been the only outstanding Cowboy this year. Jake Granville has been a revelation at hooker, whilst outside backs Lachlan Coote and Antonio Winterstein have provided a brilliant mix of security in defence, and zest in attack.
Then there is Johnathan Thurston. At 32 he won’t have many more chances of a tilt at the finals, and he showed in the Origin decider that nobody can stop him at his best.
4/1 for the Cowboys to win the Grand Final. I might have to fill my boots.
